Evans Adhesive Corporation, a business specializing in the manufacture of industrial adhesives, today announced the hiring of Research Chemist, Dr. David Speth. Working out of the Columbus, Ohio headquarters, he will lead new product and technology development for hot melt adhesives.
Dr. Speth is heavily credentialed with a PhD in Organic Chemistry from Stanford and post doctorate work at Texas Christian University. His projects have resulted in over twenty (20) patents along with numerous publications. Dr. Speth’s industry involvement includes membership in The Adhesion Society and local chairmanship of the American Chemistry Society.

Dr. Speth has significant experience in adhesive raw material development that includes twenty five (25) years at Dow Chemical Corporation. During that time his teams invented the Affinity Polymers used in packaging hot melt production. He was also a lead scientist in the development of styrene block copolymers dispersions – commonly used as replacements for natural latex. Locally, Dr. Speth worked with the Edison Welding Institute where his focus was on the use of adhesives as joining technologies in battery applications and marine composites.
