Emergency exercise at Dow Corning

《Emergency exercise at Dow Corning》:

BARRY chemical giant, Dow Corning has advised residents not to be alarmed when it runs a training exercise with emergency services on Tuesday, September 23.

Residents will see emergency vehicles, including police, fire engines and ambulances, visiting the site throughout the morning as part of the drill, from 9.30am.

Dow Corning site manager, Brian Austin, said: “The exercise is part of the emergency procedures we have developed in conjunction with South Wales Fire Service, police and ambulance. The drill allows our on-site emergency response teams, as well as the emergency services, to practice the measures we would take to protect people and property in the event of any incident. Exercises like these are vital to ensure all our procedures are understood and effective and we carry them out regularly. Health and safety is extremely important to us.

“There will be a lot of activity on site during the day but there is no need for local residents to be concerned.”
