PCB manufacturer Dragon Circuits announces their successful recertification to MIL-P-50884E, Amendment 3 for Type 4 adhesive and adhesiveless base materials.
Adhesive based materials fall into two categories: Acrylic and epoxy. Polyimide with acrylic or epoxy adhesive are the most common choices for cover layer material with thickness ranges from 0.0005″ to 0.005″ with a typical thickness of 0.001″ or 0.002.” Adhesiveless materials, which allow for flexible/thinner construction due to the absence of adhesives, also fall into two categories: Cast dielectric on copper and sputtered copper on dielectric film.
The recertification will allow Dragon to continue the manufacture of PCBs with adhesive/adhesiveless base for critical military-based applications. The MIL-P-50884E recertification, combined with Dragon’s current certification of MIL-P-55110G, Amendment 3 for Type 3 GF (Epoxy) and GI (Polyimide) Materials, paves the road for their certification to MIL-PRF-31032, along with NADCAP and ISO13485 by the end of this year.
Dragon Circuits’ President Gunny Babaria comments, “It is important to the team at Dragon that we continue our forward momentum of growth. A commitment to maintaining our current certifications and striving to obtain the next level of certification places us in a greater position to meet not just some, but all of our customers’ manufacturing needs.”
