Authorities suspect roofing adhesive started fire at Palisades

《Authorities suspect roofing adhesive started fire at Palisades》:

SAGE BEACH, Mo. — No one was injured, but six businesses and several empty storefronts suffered significant damage in a fire that authorities are saying likely began on the roof at the Palisades Village Commercial Complex on Tuesday.

According to the Osage Beach Police Department, the first firefighters to arrive at the scene at around 2:15 p.m. on Sept. 30 found several people still standing on the roof, as heavy, yellow smoke billowed from it.

The department says the fire likely started from the ignition of adhesive that was being used on the roof, where roofing crews had been working. But the source of that ignition has not yet been confirmed.

Firefighting crews from Osage Beach, Mid County, Lake Ozark, Camdenton City, Sunrise Beach and Eldon worked to bring the fire under control.

Among the businesses that were damaged, according to OBFPD:

Duenke Enterprises, State Farm Insurance, and Paint Box Café all experienced heavy fire damage to their roofs, as well as some water and smoke damage.

Lake Convenience Clinic experienced light water and smoke damage, while Stella Donna Salon and Vida Fitness both had very small amounts of smoke damage.
