《Henkel presents Loctite adhesives at CPD ‘Meet the Manufacturers’ events》:
Henkel, alongside a number of other suppliers to the manufacturing industry, has supported a series of new CPD ‘Meet the Manufacturers’ events — part of the UK Copper Board National Apprentice of the Year 2014 regional workshops.
Henkel’s role was to update the lecturers on its latest developments in thread sealing, including liquid and non-liquid technologies.
Top of the list was Loctite 55, Henkel’s main thread sealant, which provides an effective seal against water, air and gas, with no need for rework. Unlike PTFE, Loctite 55 allows the threaded fittings to be backed off for alignment without risk of leakage.
The ‘Meet the Manufacturers’ events took place at six venues, ranging from Middlesbrough to Bridgewater. Representatives from the Water Regulations Advisory Scheme (WRAS) ran a focus group at each of the locations to take soundings on new best-practice recommendations.
All of the lecturers that attended the presentations were given a certificate for ‘New Product Innovation’, which counts towards their CPD quota. In addition, Henkel presented each of them with free samples of its Loctite 55 thread sealant for students to use in the classroom.

Henkel also presented the following products:
Loctite 5400
Designed for sealing oil fittings, this anaerobic sealant is suitable for all coarse metal threads. It is WRAS listed and carries no hazard symbols, risks or safety phrases. Loctite 5400 covers most applications and is a good choice for sealing olives.
Loctite 5075
Paul Carter, Loctite specialist for the plumbing sector, demonstrated emergency repair using this newly introduced self-fusing insulating and sealing wrap. It stretches by 300 per cent to create a tourniquet around the leak and a watertight seal.
Loctite 8040
This product shock-freezes down to -40ºC and releases rusted, corroded and seized parts.
Loctite 7850
This newly formulated natural hand cleaner is believed to be one of only a few industrial cleaners to be certified in accordance with European Cosmetic Regulations.
